Photographer, Videographer & Content Creator

JESS

G'Day, my name is Jess.

I graduated from McMaster University, where I specialized in multimedia and developed a strong foundation in photography, video production, and digital storytelling. Not long after graduating, I began freelancing and eventually moved to Australia, where I joined a marketing agency and spent several years working in creative and content-focused roles. During that time, I was producing multimedia campaigns, learning the ins and outs of brand storytelling, and refining the technical skills that still shape the way I create today.

While working at the agency during the week, I started photographing weddings on weekends. What began as a side project quickly took off, and before long I was consistently booking weddings and building a strong portfolio. For about three years, I balanced agency work with running a wedding photography and videography business, capturing some of the most meaningful moments in people’s lives.

Around that same time, I had also started an Instagram account for my Australian Shepherd, Sedona. What started as a fun creative outlet slowly grew into something much bigger. As the account expanded and opportunities began to appear, I realized it was becoming its own creative path.

For the past three years, I’ve been doing this full time, creating content centered around adventure, storytelling, and life with Sedona. My background in marketing, freelance work, and wedding photography still influences everything I produce. Whether I’m creating brand campaigns, photography, or cinematic video, I approach every project with the same level of professionalism, quality, and attention to detail that I developed throughout my previous careers.

Sedona and I lived together in Australia for about four years before eventually moving back home to Canada. Since returning, we’ve dedicated much of our time to cinematic storytelling and traveling across North America, documenting the places we explore and the adventures we share.

At the core of everything I create is a simple goal: I want my work to make people feel something. Whether it’s a photograph, a film, or a quiet moment captured on a trail, the emotional connection behind the story will always be the most important part of the art I produce.

Meet Sedona

Sedona is my six-year-old Australian Shepherd and the heart behind everything I create.

She was born in Australia, where we spent the first few years of her life together. Those early days were filled with long beach walks, warm weather, and endless adventure. Australia was where Sedona grew up exploring the outdoors, swimming in the ocean, and learning how big the world could be.

But early in her life we faced a major challenge.

Sedona was diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a serious congenital heart condition that required heart surgery to correct. It was one of the most stressful experiences of my life, but thankfully the surgery was successful. Sedona recovered incredibly well and today she is thriving, healthy, and still living a very adventurous life.

About a year later, we made a huge life change and moved from Australia back home to Canada. Since then, we’ve spent our time exploring as much of North America as possible together.

Sedona’s Instagram actually started very differently from what it is today. In the early days, the account was mostly dedicated to training videos. Sedona is incredibly smart, and as my first dog I spent a lot of time learning and documenting our training journey together.

Over time, that slowly evolved into something bigger, a place where we now share our travel adventures and the places we explore together.

We’ve driven across the country from Toronto all the way to Tofino, British Columbia, and we’ve made several road trips down to Florida over the years. One of the most special trips we’ve ever taken was in May 2025, when we did a desert road trip and I finally brought Sedona to Sedona, Arizona, the place she was named after.

Her name was inspired by both the location and the song Sedona by Houndmouth, so getting to stand there together after years of adventure felt incredibly full circle.

Sedona has a big personality. She’s equal parts sassy and sweet, and if you’ve followed along for a while, you’ll know she’s also become known for her iconic selfies — which actually went viral and quickly became one of her signature things.

At the end of the day though, Sedona is more than a content partner. She’s my adventure companion, my creative inspiration, and the reason I started sharing our story in the first place. Every photo, film, and trip we take together is simply another chapter in the life we’re building side by side.
